brezna1,

High potassium level can be due to crushed tissue from an injury, kidney failure, red blood cell destruction, metabolic or respiratory acidosis, and rarely Addison's disease. Your doctor should do further testing to determine what the exact cause may be, so the appropriate treatment may be given.

Reply to Annie's Post: Annie, Richard has had his bladder and prostrate removed due to cancer of the bladder (two years ago) was doing much better after chemo and the last few months he has been totally exhausted and his creatnine level is 4.5 and his blood levels are low too. We seem to be getting passed from the PCP, to the Urologist to the Nephrologist and not one is coming up with an answer.

Is there anything diet wise that we can do in the interim? We are waiting to hear from doctors now as it is high vacation time.
