HELP! I need help with my friend, and dont know whats

hi, my friend has been telling me about how she has been sick. She 1st said that she threw up blood a couple of times, and she went to the hospital last night saying that the doctor told them she has blood clot in her lungs. What does this mean? Will she live? I am so scared for her and dont know what to do.
