Hello there,I have been undergoing treatment for

Sent to Health Experts September 04, 2006 6:12 p.m.

Hello there,

I have been undergoing treatment for chronic lyme for 9 months with both I.M. and oral antibiotics. Fortunately, I probably only had Lyme for 1 1/2 years before it was finally diagnosed.

My CD 57 shows that I am recovering well from Lyme with the antibiotics. (I'm only taking oral biaxin right now.)

I was reading on the internet that the reason that hyperbaric oxygen is used in treating lyme is that the lyme spirochetes hide in the fibroblast cells, where the antibiotics cannot reach them.

My doctor is on vacaion for a few weeks, otherwise, I would be asking him this question: Are antibiotics, such as biaxin ,capable of getting into the fibroblast cells?

Thank you

Biaxin has excellent intracellular activity.

Here is a link to an article on the subject
(Clarithromycin is the generic name for Biaxin)
