Question

Vaginal Irritation

Sent to Health Experts September 09, 2006 3:23 a.m.

Tonight me and my boyfriend were involved in sexual activities, but not sex itself, and i noticed myself really dry, but he kept going. by the time i got home, i could barely walk because it felt reallyl weird down there . i then loooked in the mirror and it was really puffy on one side of my vaginal area. it covered the other side of it too. when i go to the bathroom, it burns. Is it just an irritation?

This is likely to be just irritation of the vagina. Applying a lotion that has aloe in it will help sooth the area and bring down swelling. If you notice this happening again, you may have to use a personal lubricant. Being dry could be caused by lots of factors such as emotional problems, stress, or just not feeling in the mood. If the area becomes and stays red for more than 2-3 days or if the burning continues then you need to see a doctor for further examination. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. its red and very very puffy, like abnormaly puffy. my friends are sexually active and i asked them what it might be, but i showed them and they thought it was very weird, too. when they have sex, it gets a little bit puffy, but nothing like this and i havent even had sex. i was just fingered. i just layed there and let it be and i noticed fluid coming out.

Your vulva and other external areas around your vagina are very sensitive. If the fingering was rough or if you are just overly sensitive, swelling will happen. It is not uncommon for there to be burning with urination since the area probably has tiny breaks in the skin. I believe this is just irritation. If any of your symptoms last more than 2 days then you need to see a doctor. If not, a warm washcloth applied to the area for 15 minutes at a time will help with the swelling and pain.
