I have been told by my doctor that I am pre-menopausal. I am 44 yrs old and had a tubal ligation about 1-year ago, after getting pregnant at 43. Friends tell me that getting pregnant at a late age is like the change of life - last hoorah pregnancy. Is this true?

No I don;'t think I am pregnant again since I had a tubal ligation but I have not had a period for about 4.5 months now. I have no symptoms other than fatigue and some night sweats and occasional vaginal dryness. Is there any procedure that I can request my doctor to perform to see if there is any adhesions or scar tissue from any surgeries that might be causing me to not have any periods? I do experience cramping and tender breasts but no periods. No warnings, nothing! Is this what I should expect am I one of the lucky ones that dont have symptoms?   I also was told I have HPV virus

Hi,
The symptoms that you are describing are of early menopause. The irregular bleeding, hot flashes, fatigue and dry vagina. The symptoms might progress to full fledged menopausal symptoms or might have ony mild ones. You need to be put on some Clacium supplements and hormonal therapy if required for menopause.

But still if you want to confirm whether there is anything wrong in your uterus, then you can ask your Ob/Gynae to perform a thorough per vaginal examination to rule out any pathology in the opening of the uterus. Also an Ultrasound will diagnose any adhesions or abnormalities of the uterus and ovaries.
