My brother is visiting and forgot his Paxil. He will not have it until late tomorrow (wife mailed it to him). Can he take one of my Effexor's to help him until then?

Hello,

I'm sorry but it would not be legal or ethical for us to advise you to give your brother one of your prescription medications.

I would advise your brother to call his doctor's office, even though it is after hours and leave a message with the answering service as to what is going on. Ask them to phone the doctor and have the doctor call a pharmacy near you and order enough Paxil to see your brother through his visit with you. When your brother calls be sure he leaves your phone number and the phone number of YOUR pharmacy with the answering service of his doctor's office. Ask that they return your call as soon as possible.

Reply to Vicky B's Post: My brother's physician is in Japan. It's 9:30 at night here and he's dizzy, etc. I know it's unethical to give him one of my prescription drugs, but I'm at my wits end here. I need to get him something.   Help me.

The best thing you can do then is to take him to a late night walk-in clinic or an ER to see a doctor.

I wish I could be of more help to you. I know you are having a hard time. Our hands are tied here.
