During the night I wake up with one and accassionall both of my arms having poor circulation(feel heavy) or they are asleep. This is not because I am sleeping with my arms over my head.   It has happened when I was flat on my back with my arms on my stomach. The only medication I am on is Prilosec.

REPLIED Check Mark

One of the side efects of the ingredient in Prilosec is paraesthesia. This is abnormal sensations including 'pins and needles' which are often associated with impaired circulation.

You need to chat with your doctor to either rule out damage to the vertebrae where the nerves for your arms come out, or to establish whether it is a side effect of the Prilosec. It may get better with reduced dose, or you may need to change to an alternative medication.

COULD THIS ALSO CAUSE ACCASIONAL CHEST PAINS AS WELL?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Yes chain pain can be a rare side effect, however I always recommend any chest pain gets investigated as causes can be related to the heart, stomach, or lungs. Speed of referral depends on intensity and severity of pain.
