pain in lower right abdomen

I have had a cramping pain in my lower right abdomen for several days...could it be my appendix? Does it get worse over time? What else could it be? What makes the appendix pain different than other pain? Someone said it could be a kidney infection, but I did not think it had so much pain associated with the infection.

Inflammation of the colon may cause pain in your lower right abdomen. The pain of appendicitis may also spread to the lower right abdomen. I am also including a link that goes into more detail on Appendicitis, please do read that over as well.

Other causes that it can be in females is ovarian cyst or possible ectopic pregnancy. Since this has been going on for several days, it is best to see your doctor at this point, as generally an ultra can help determine what is going on.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don't forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and leave *POSITIVE* feedback.

Normally it won't go on for days. You don't mention anything about fever etc. So I would almost rule out your appendix. Generally an insurance company would start out with an ultra sound vs a ct scan, but this does also depend upon your doctor. You can see your general family doctor, as he/she can order the tests and go from there. If it's severe enough, I would go to the ER, as they can do the ultra sound, x ray or even ct scan there. And then you don't have to wait to see your doctor and then for them to schedule out tests as well.

Hope this helps Hun
