Sent to Health Experts September 24 05:09 PM

I am not on any birth control and I am getting ready to go on a trip with my husband for a week. If my next monthly cycle starts on time then I will start on the first day of our trip. Is there any thing that I can take to delay my period for a week or so? A shot or anything?

I don't know if you have already started your period prior to the one you are wanting to delay. If not, you could get on the pill, as you would need to start it a month prior to the cycle you want to skip. Or you can see your doctor and take progestogen, which is generally taken about 7-10 days before your cycle starts that you want to skip.

One option may be the softcup. You can read about that here: Read here

Reply to Lindie's Post: I should probably start my period around the 9th or 10th of October. I have been losing weight and I am under a lot of stress right now with work so my period has not been on time lately. I don't have a regular doctor so how hard or what does it entail to get progestogen?
