My 5 year old is coughing and sneezing. She has thick mucus coming out when she sneezes. She refuses to eat, but gets lots of liquids. She has no fever. What are some possibilities?

Hello,

Your child probably has common cold caused by a virus. Colds usually last about a week but can last for as long as 2 weeks. If cough increases or if he develops rapid breathing then he needs to see a doctor to rule out bronchiolitis or pneumonia.
