I have been diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome although the cause has yet to be determined. I am hesitant to tell my doctor about a previous history of methamphetamine useage (Crystal Meth, 3 year addiction) for fear of jeopardizing my insurance coverage. I have been clean for almost 2 years. Could this be or have been a causal factor?

REPLIED Check Mark

It is not usually caused or been reported to be a contributing factor to this disorder and anything you tell you physician stays in confidance so I would honestly tell them as they need to know all health history to best treat you not only now but with anything that could happen in the future but meth use is not usually a contributing factor to this disorder.

Cheryl,
Thank you for the prompt reply. I am going to wait and hope that I hear from a Dr., but if I don't get anything better, I will accept you answer. I was hoping for something of a slightly different nature as I know that Meth can be a contributing factor to kidney disease.

Thank you
