If you are not being tested for it, or don't have any visual symptoms, just by looking at you then, No it can't be diagnosed.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don't forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and leave *POSITIVE* feedback.

I had an encounter with a person two days ago. I was told from the person they were clean. I'm still a somewhat virgin/paranoid. This person performed anal licking and oral sex. I don't have symptoms of an std. My question is can a doctor tell if I do this early, via blood test??

For two days Hun, this is much too early. Although as you already know, you do put yourself at risks whenever there is unprotected sex of any kind. However since it was just oral and if you saw no open sores of any kind, your chances of getting something are very slim. (not impossible, but very slim)

At this point, give it at least 10-14 days and just see if you do develop anything. Otherwise, you do need to wait anywhere from 12-16 weeks to be tested via blood, if there is no visual sign. And that is to test for herpes. Then if you want to re-test again in about 6-8 month from the time this occurred, it will give you even a more accurate. So if it comes back Neg- and you had no visual symptoms, then you are still clean.

Just be careful in the future (which I'm sure you are) but for just oral, I wouldn't stress over it at this point, just don't always take someones word for it, unless you really know them.

Hope this helps Hun

I'm still stressed over it. Alcohol was involved. I can't remember if there were sores or not. I recall nothing, but I'm the type that will think I feel symptoms or think I remember sores just because I'm so nervous and new to the world of sex. I have already made up my mind, I am not having sex any form of it ever again. I have a doctor's appointment next saturday. The incident happened early thursday morning about seven in the morning. Would I have seen anything by now? And that isn't enough time for a blood test??

You will make yourself sick if you continue to stress over this Hun. I can understand, but I have seen a lot of young men and woman in this same situation. I would be more worried if you had actual intercourse than just oral.

It can generally take anywhere from 2-21 days for something to visually appear if you had caught anything. So to answer your question, yes you could have seen something by now. However it is still too early to know 100% sure. You do need around 12 weeks for a blood test at the earliest, unless you visually see something.

Now your doctor can do a swab test, however, the chances are this will come back Neg- and I would still repeat the test, just for your own piece of mind.

So if oral and some licking the only thing that was done, I really wouldn't stress over this, just be more aware in the future.

Although alcohol was involved, I'm sure to some point you were still aware, but just caught up in the moment. So unless she had open sores on her mouth, don't stress.

Keep your appt with your doctor next week, but don't stress Hun. As stated above, be aware, and just keep an eye out for anything.. that way you can bring it to your doctors attention next week.

Hope this helps Hun

How long should I keep getting tested for this incident before I know I really am clean? Also, when I allow 12 weeks to pass before getting a blood test, can I get tested for all std's at once? Or do I have to keep going back one by one testing for herpes, syphalis, etc...?

If you do it at 12 weeks and then repeat the test again at 6 months, and if you are Neg-, you are good to go. Generally your doctor can do a basic test, which can cover them all just to be on the safe side. It doesn't have to be an individual test.

You can do the blood testing and/or swab testing. Both will be fine and give a good reading if you have any of the STD virus.

Do keep your appt. next week so your doctor is aware and you both can go from there.

But in the mean time, do try not to stress over this Hun, I just don't want you to make yourself sick from worry.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but... When you say test again in six months. Do you mean six more months on top of the 12 weeks or six months all together including the 12 weeks which means the time to test the second time after the 12 weeks would mean 3 months...?

You're not bothering me.. :)

six months from the time the oral sex occurred. So in 3 month and then again in 3 months.

If you need anything else, just ask. If no further questions, just leave me feedback after clicking accept as I will do the same.

One more thing. One last thing. The only "symptom" I feel is a slight subtle tingle only in my...I don't know the correct term right now because of the nervousness. So, in my berries not the twig. After I read this as being a symptom online it has been occuring more frequent, I don't know if it really is something or if it is all in my head
