At the age of about 12 I one day suffered am extremely sore stomach which after visiting the doctor was told was a pulled muscle. Around a month later it got sore again and has on average been like this around once every two months sometimes with gaps of up to 6 months.
Basically it starts of i get a feeling almost like cramp in the right hand side of my stomach just under the bottom of my ribs. Over about 4 hours it will come and go getting sorer and sorer each time until i can't sit in one position with the pain. My stomach goes very tender and eventually it will just be continual pain that's so bad I start being sick at which point normally i'm so tired out i manage to fall asleep.
I went to the doctors again a few years ago and they gave me some kind of tablets which never made any difference. I paid another visit to the doctor at my hospital one night after it being sore for over a day who said he thought i had irittable bowel syndrome i think it was and gave me buscopan which also never helped.
I have been trying to work out what causes it and normally if i eat salty or greasy foods that can trigger i've also had it without eating any of the above. My partner thinks i normally get it when i'm stressed which isn't always true either.Physical activity seems to bring it on too.I have smoked since i was 16 and if i have a cigarette while it sore it will get worse. My Mum thought it was a grumbling appendix but apparently this would not get sore and go away again.
Recently i havn't had it for over a year but last week it got sore again. I'm 22 now so have been experiencing this for over 10 years. It stops me doing things i might want to do as when it's sore i'd rather be alone and i have lost my faith in my gp after the previous visits.
Any advice you could offer would be highly appreciated.
Optional Information: Male , Age: 22
