I am 39, female, overweight. I have been having troubles for over a year now. Have seen my doctor, and had numerous blood tests. I am tired alot, feel like I cannot concentrate, blurred vision, head tingling. I was tested for diabetes and was found to "not " have high sugar levels. I do not have hight bllod pressure. I am walking 3 miles at least 5 times per week, I have lost 38lbs in the past 10 weeks, I am eating VERY healthy. I have taken my blood sugar at home and it ranges from USUALLY 76-80 but once was 139. I am scared as I am NEVER usually sick. My gums are almost white. I can have a GREAT day and than the next barely get out of bed. I am taking follic acid and B12, as I am maybe anemic. I see my doctor on 10/24/06, but I am really getting scared. Any ideas would be gratly appreciated.

Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: My sypmtoms are always, extreme fatigue, ringing in the ears, plugged ears, pale whitish gums, blurry vision. I have trouble concentrating and find myself becoming depressed. It seems like diabetes, but I have taken the tests and my doc thinks perhaps pre-diabetic. I am eating healthier than ever, have lost 37-38 lbs and should feel great. I also get head tingling sort of like when the American Anthem is played and you get the "goose bumps" of pride, this is what I feel throughout my head and sometimes in my checks. I see my doc on the 24th of October, should I have her test me for MS? I don't think lymes as I have no pain at all. I also saw my eye doctor and my eyes show no sign of heart or diabetes trouble. I have NEVER been someone that gets sick and this is starting to make me think I am crazy. I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I am sorry but that's all I can say. Anything you have to tell me would help in my quest to feel myself again. At this point knowing anything would make me happy. On my blood panel workup my neutophils% was 70.2 and basophils% was 0.7 this was the only irregular things on the whole workup, if that helps. Thank you so much.

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me.

Certainly it would be appropriate to rule out diabetes, anaemia, underactive thyroid, liver or kidney problems - this is easily done by blood tests.

Fatigue - is most commonly a symptom of depression or reflecting a Lifestyle short on physical exercise.

Pale gums - is not something I would worry about.

Blurring of vision and you ear symptoms - I need a bit more information to advise you.

Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: It's like having to blink to constantly clear something from your eye. I have to squint and concentrate to make things clear. The ear ringing is 24 hours a day, more noticable at night. The plugged ears is like swimmers ear or a bad cold. COuld this be all in my head? I excerise by walking a minimum of 2 miles per day. Thanks again, I keep plugging along....

Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: Yes I have been to the eye doctor. The right eye is always the worst. The ears being plugged is a pretty constant thing too...the ringing is 24/7, and could possibly be tinnuitis...should I ask to be tested for MS and lymes or just work on my head? That sounds weird, but I mean if I am creating this all in my own mind, maybe I should consult a psycologist>>?

Good - you can forget MS then as a potential diagnosis.

Have you any other symptoms of depression - poor sleep, loss of appetite, social withdrawal, low mood - I note you have poor concentration - this is a symptom of depression.

I will post you a link to some information about tinnitus.

Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: I could answer yes to all of those questions, and depression runs in my family, I just am sort of shocked that at 39 it is now happening to me. I guess it's the most logical and actually best outcome in many ways I suppose. Thanks for the link on the tinnuitis also, I truly appreciate your time today, I think of myself as quite intelligent, but I never even considered depression, maybe my overthinking this is my problem, ha! Have a really great day!
