I have a pain in my back now for about 2 weeks going on 3. It is around the area where I figure my kidneys are. It feels like someone punched me there. I did fall down pretty hard about 3 weeks ago. What do think this could be?

Did you hit your back in the kidney area when you fell?

Does it feel tender when you touch the area?

Was it bruised in the area of your kidneys after you fell?

Have you had any blood in your urine or trouble with urination?

Does it hurt when you are still or only when you move?

I actually fell on my stomach...I did a belly flop on the lawn and cement. My body hit the lawn. No, not tender to the touch. No bruising there. Just on my legs. No, no blood in urine...that I could detect, absolutely no urine trouble. I drink over 64 oz of water a day, and use the bathroom on a normal basis unless I drink my water late, then I have to get up once during the night. I am 51, so I do go more frequent than I did when I was say...31, also, I have had 7 kids. Oldest is 31 and youngest is 21..so a lot of kids in a short amount of years. There is a constant dull ache, from the time I wake up until I go to bed. It doesn't seem to bother much when I am asleep.

Tell me exactly where the pain is. Your idea and mine of where your kidneys are might be different. I want to make sure we are referring to the same area.

It is ...on my right side, about half way down my back...in the middle of my spine and my side. Lets say below my shoulder blade area about 4 inches. After reading some medical books, and waiting for your reply, I now realize it may not be my kidneys. The pain seems to change each day. All I can really say, is that again this morning I woke up with that dull pain and it hurts clear through to my stomach, on the right side of my stomach. Also, it is tender to the touch today, if I push a bit.
