Echo: I must ask you how long you have been suffering form this as a result of accutane. The aim of accutane is to decrease sebum, which can contribute significantly decrease the formation of acne. This is why the product is so effective, but then again, there is no way to know if it will overdo it. Echo: There are a lot of ways to increase production of sebum but I would not rush to judgment right away. Take the example of a facial peel, which results in irritated skin from the acid which is applied directly to your face. It is expected for there to be inflammation and irritation. This is a short-term effect to be dealt with. You can increase sebum production in a variety of ways: most of them undesirable. This includes heavy scrubbing of the face in combination with astringents, which will actually impel the skin to produce more sebum. However, you should consult the doctor who prescribe you accutane. There is a certain period of time within which you must deal with the effects. For now, I would recommend only a mild mosturizer with aloe that would at least give you some temporary relief.
