why is my period so heavy and coming early

on Sept.3rd i had my period and i usually get it on the 9th and then i got my period again on sept.30th which is now almost 10 days early it is extremely heavy and has some clots the blood is bright red and the clots are a darker red..can you tell me why my period is doing this
