No, Customer (name blocked for privacy), Your symptoms are not caused by eating chocolate .

What you probably have , it is a condition called Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease , a condition characterized by the reflux of acid juices from the stomach back into the esophagus and the second possibility would be a Gastritis ( stomach lining inflammation) .

My main recommendation is that you consult a Gastroenterologist Specialist to evaluate your symptoms .

The doctor will perform some tests including : an endoscopy , pH acidity test , and an esophageal manometry .

With these tests , the doctor will be able to determine what of these conditions you have to give you the appropriate treatment .

Usually the treatment includes antacids ,proton pump inhibitors , antibiotics (in some cases) and acid blockers .

However , if you experience sudden chest pain or breathing difficulty, you need to consult a doctor immediately .
