 Dear Britt,

What kind of pains are you talking about..Ie: stabbing, crushing, aching?, how high are you talking about..(shoulder)? and one more question - how long has this been going on, and is there anything you do that makes it worse/better?

Thanks...

Dear Britt,

Well dear there could be several possibilities for what you may have going on, here a couple that are coming to mind at the moment, (from the information given). The first one...If you have not been feeling very well... have had a fever, and basically felt like you might have the flu... Then you may have an infection of your lungs called pleuracy. The lungs are covered by a visceral (organ) called pleura. If any of these tissues become inflamed, the pleural space can become restricted or smaller, so that the lungs rub against the walls of the chest. This condition, called pleuracy, can be quite painful and hamper breathing. For this type of condition you will have to see your doctor for some antibiotics. The second thing that comes to mind...Is if in the last few days, you have been doing anything strenuous..ie: lifting anything heavy, Pulling or pushing on anything...you could have strained the muscles in your chest, and/or back causing this type of pain. In that case, some Tylenol and maybe a rubdown in "icy hot" or a long hot bath will do wonders. I am not sure if I have helped you much- as you did not give many symptoms to go by, but if you feel in your heart that what you are experiencing is not what we have discussed...then you really need to visit your doc for a full assessment, and prescription meds.

Good Luck to you, and I hope you get to feeling better soon!
