HPV questions

Sent to Health Experts December 30 03:39 PM

I have the HPV that causes cancer ~ I do not have warts. I am having my cervix frozen on Jan 18th. After the freezing, then what? I know it's a virus that has no cure so it's always in me, but what are the chances I will infect someone else after the freezing? And how soon can I be tested to see if the virus shows up? My doc said a year, but that feels too long. If I have to have a pap smear every 4 weeks for the next year to make sure the dysplasia doesn't turn into cancer, can't I be tested for HPV then, too? Do male & female condoms help in preventing further spreading of HPV? Can you spread HPV from oral sex or is it just thru intercourse? Thank you.

Well, let me first tell you hat it is the most common sexually transmitted disease over the world. Here are the answers;

1- Do not panic. Once / year is enough

2- Condoms are protective

3- Oral sex can transmit the diseaes if HPV infection is involving external genitalia and if secretions are out of vagina

4- There is anew vaccine for HPV, but it is for females who do not have the disease

Wish you the best

Reply to Dr. Wail's Post: So after the freezing, how likely am I to pass it on to someone?
