Hi there. My mom had a headache yesterday and fell asleep. During her sleep, she said she had a terrible pain hit her left side of her neck, next to her spine, and has not let up since. When she woke up this morning, the pain was still in her neck and the left side of face, around the eye area, was swollen. She went to the Dr today, and they took blood and told her that her WBC was up and that she probably had an infection somewhere in her body, and she had pink eye (but there is NO redness to any part of her eye) and she had poison Ivy on her face (but has no blisters or itching to resemble poison ivy).They prescribed her a muscle relaxer and medication for her pink eye. She took the muscle relaxor, and fell asleep. She awoke around an hour later and could not move her neck at all. Both sides of her neck were in excrutiating pain and I had to apply pressure to the back of her neck just so she can get a little refief. She is now at the hospital, but I want to know WHAT IS GOING ON???
