Question

My inter left ankle hurts from just above my arch, up ...

Sent to Health Experts June 08, 2006 1:22 p.m.

My inter left ankle hurts from just above my arch, up around my ankle to about halfway up my leg. It hurts to put pressure on it. I have been doing the R.I.C.E. My foot is cold and low circulation as well as swelling around the ankle and what appears to look like a bruise. Is it possible that I have broken something or just possible sprain?

I have been painting and up and down a ladder. Yesterday I missed the bottom 2 steps and fell. Besides paint being everywhere, I felt my left ankle give way. I was not in any immediate pain because I had also hit my elbow and it was painful but now it is ok. About an hour or 2 after my ankle started hurting and walking became more difficult.
