Hello and Welcome to Just Answer.

I recently myself had this, so I know what you are going through. This is most likely what they called "repetitive stress injury." It is when you overuse or put too much stress on a body part. When this is ignored and you continue to put stress on your foot for instance, it will continue to get worse, often causing damage. I was walking on a treadmill 2 miles a day. My left foot began to hurt and was very sore, but I kept on walking. It got to the point that I could hardly walk, so I had to stay off of it for several days. Something that I did notice, is that if I wrap my foot and ankle with an ace bandage, it really helps the pain and numbness. I walked 2 miles today with the ace bandage on and i didn't feel any pain or numbness. You just have to make sure that the bandage is not too tight. If you see your toes having a blue tinge or alot of redness, you probably have the bandage too tight. If you have anymore questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Reply to Pam's Post: That suggestion may work for walking when I wear tennis shoes but since I live in Hawaii and work at a retail store I have to wear "cute" (flat OK) to work. Is there an exercise I can do to strengthen or a massage pressure point to press for some results. Thanks

Hello again,

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Usually a repetitive stress injury has to have time to heal. Massage might help, but the only thing that I have found that has worked is if something was pretty snug around my foot.   I have tried all sorts of things and nothing has helped. So I am really not sure what to tell you about work. I wish there was a way that you could let that rest for a couple of days. Usually after a couple of days just staying off of it as much as you can, maybe the weekend when you are off, usually helps tremendously.

I hope I have answered your questions. If I have helped you in anyway by answering your questions, could you please click the ACCEPT button and also leave me a short feedback so I know how I am doing.
