A single raised reading is something to be aware of, but does not require immediate attention at this level. You need to have the level checked again by your doctor as soon as possible after the holiday. If you were to experience signs of ill health such as chest pain, headache or nose bleed then I would seek urgent care in that instance.

Some things to bear in mind when doing readings, is the calibration of the machine. The experience of the operator, and the position of the patient when reading is done.

Also not having coffee, cigarette or exercise in the 30 min before taking the reading.

Reducing salt, coffee and alcohol from the diet should be the first steps and introduce gradual exercise eg a daily walk. If you are overweight then you need to be on a calorie controlled diet to lose the extra pounds.

Does this help?
