hi. i am 5'7" and weigh 157 lb. but i still fit

hi. i am 5'7" and weigh 157 lb. but i still fit into a size 4 or 6. what is going on here? I am very confused because i have five friends all around the same weight as me (3lb less or more) and all of them wear a size 8-12 and only one of them wears a size 8. Is it just my larger chest of what? i'd really like to know.
