I HAVE A MODERATE TO SEVERE CUT ON THE THUMB OF MY LEFT HAND. IT WAS MADE BY A PIECE OF PORCELIN THAT BROKE OFF A CANDLE HOLDER. I HAVE TAKEN THE BANDAGE OFF AND IS NO LONGER BLEEDING. WHAT DO I DO TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING INFECTED. ABRAM NOUFER

You need to keep an antibiotic ointment on it such as the Neosporin which you are correct in using to help promote healing and cut down on the risk of infection, also make sure the wound stays clean and free of dirt and debris. If it is a pretty severe cut it may have stopped bleeding but could still need a possible stitch or two so I would keep an eye on it in case this is the cause, or you can try using some NuSkin which provides a coating over the wound and can promote healing as well. Watch for any redness or swelling which can be signs of infection.
