i had a fever blister and now it looks like it has traveled ...

i had a fever blister and now it looks like it has traveled to both lips and my lips are now very swollen but the blister is gone. How do i get rid of the swollen lips.

tylenol, campho-phenique,abreva,ice packs

Hello

If it is from a cold sore caused by herpes simplex 1, you could ask your doctor for some antiviral medicine to take for a few days.

If not, try icing the area, or try some benadryl or another antihistamine.

If they are severely swollen, please see your doctor for further investigation. You may have an infection that would need a course of antibiotics.

I have tried ice packs and some of the swelling went down but not all but i will try the benadryl.
