I've had a UTI for a week, but am just finishing up a course of antibiotics and am feeling better. What drove me to the doctor in the first place (two days ago) was a mild pain in my right side, even with and extending below my navel. It has become more uncomfortable throughout the day today. It now hurts when I press it about a handswidth away and even with my belly button. I've read that a UTI is something they rule out before diagnosing appendicitis, but if this pain were connected to my UTI wouldn't it be fading now, not getting worse? I have no insurance so am reluctant to go to the emergency room unless I have to.
