my daughter has a very high fever she says her bones hurt ...

my daughter has a very high fever, she says her bones hurt, and tylonal didn't help....what else can I do to help the fever go down? Also, the doctors offices are closed around here, how high should he fever get before I drive an hour to a hospital?
