My Daughter is 3 1/2 she has had a fever for 7 days now. It gets up to 102.5 under the arm, but goes down to almost normal w/ motrin & tyenol. She acts almost normal when the fever is down. She has had a strep test, urine test and culture done and my pediatrician put her on Omnicef which she has had 5 doses of already. The Dr. office says to wait until tomorrow for a blood test if it doesn't get better, but it makes me nervous waiting, even though I don't want to put her through that. She doesn't have many other symptoms but seems to be a bit congested all the sudden even though she can still breath through her nose. My 1 yr old had a fever for 4 1/2 days right before she got sick so I assume they have the same thing, but it is frustrating seeing it taking solong for her to get rid of the fever. Also her limpnods in the front and back of neck are swollen. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
