Tested negative for strep. She is on penicillin but hasn't helped so far. She is especially worrried about her gums.

They took a second strep and it was also negative. This is her second day on the penicillen. They seem to want her to wait and see. She seems to be especially concerned about her gums.

ACCEPTEDCheck Mark
Check her circulation by pressing down on one of the fingernails and see how fast the color returns. It should come back imediatly, if it does most likely the circulation is okay.
Any other medications?
Did the gum issue start before or after taking the PCN? Any other symptoms like cough, nausea/vomiting/upper respiratory problems?

Just wanted to tell you that the penicillan is working, but she has one especially sore spot in her throat yet and although her gums are better they they have receded, which is a worry for her. She is on her seventh day of the medication.
