My 12 yar old Son has been violently throwing up for ...

My 12 yar old Son has been violently throwing up for the past twelve hours. He cant keep anything down and has thrown up alot of bile. Throught out the night he was throwing up and dry heaving approximately every 15 minutes! Should I take him to a hospital? Is is just food poisoning that has to run it's course?
