My six month old baby has had diarrhea for a day and a half. I contacted the doctor during the day, and they told me to make sure he has fluids, treat his low-grade fever with tylenol, and make sure he wets plenty of diapers and doesn't become dehydrated. They asked me if he had any mucus in his bm's, and at the time, he did not. However, tonight he had a bm that did appear to have mucus in it. Is this dangerous? Why does it happen? Do I need to contact the doctor again because of the mucus?
Thank you,
