My son was hit by a car as a pedestrian causing a lacerated liver, lacerated kidney and lung cyst. His liver was smashed; Grade III. His main problem has been his lung. He is also asthmatic. They inserted a chest tube for a pleural infusion which very quickly caused a pussy discharge on the bandage with pain and fever of 103.2. I insisted on a culture of the pussy CT site discharge. They had only gotten cultures of his blood, sputum and urine. Sure enough it was his chest tube site...MRSA. He was taken back to surgery for a Thorooscopy and cut him open to remove the pus from his pleural cavity and insert another chest tube into his 22 year old chest muscle. Now he has developed SIADH. My question is how does this cause SIADH?
