Fever is due to the body fighting off virus or infection. You will need some blood tests to find the cause and to see which it is and if you need antibiotics as well. Since the pain is so severe, I'd go to the Er tonight. They will start the testing and give you something for the pain.

There is nothing more I can tell you without seeing tests run and the results. What exactly did you want to know?

Some viruses will cause the painful limbs and the blotchiness. As will some infections.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but you really need more testing before I can have a clue as well.
