It can really be different with all individuals, as you can be a carrier or infected with the antibodies themselves and have symptoms. In most cases the IgM antibodies will show up in a blood test within 3-4 weeks after exposure and usually return to normal within 8 weeks. With the IgG antibodies they usually appear within 2-3 weeks after the IgM antibodies start to increase and the IgG antibodies may persist indefinately. If the IgM antibody is elevated without the presense of the IgG antibody acute hepatitis is suspected and you can begin to see symptoms immediately but if the IgG antibody is increased but not the IgM antibody then a chronic state is likely that you are a carrier and may not show symptoms for years and in some cases not at all. In either instance you need to have bloodwork performed on a regular basis and follow any directions that your physician has given you so your condition can be monitored. If you start to see any signs of illness then it is advised to contact your physician for bloodwork so they can check the state of the antibodies in your blood to see if there are any changes to your liver. Some of the symptoms are fatigue, jaundice, loss of appetite, fever darker urine, pale stools, abdominal pain, and even dilated veins in the esophagus.
