The anus is the actual opening of the rectum on the surface of the body. The rectum is betwen 6 and 8 inches long. Anything that is placed inside the rectum has a potential risk for perforation. Once perforated, the rectum will release organisms into the bloodstream and into the body cavity. A septic condition will be set up with massive inflammatory response, fever spikes, pain, overwhelming infection, complications involving multiple body systems, and a huge risk for death. I know this is a common practice, but it is fraught with danger and I must caution you against it!
