Your symptoms are consistent with a viral infection commonly called 'Stomach Flu' a.k.a. Gastroenteritis. 'Galloping' aches and pains and fever are
par for the course. The fact that your symptoms lessen or
disappear when you sleep/rest indicates that your body is probably
effectively dealing with what is probably a short-term illness.
Antibiotic medications are not affective against viral
infections. Treatment includes drinking plenty of fluids --
eating a light somewhat bland diet -- taken an over-the-counter pain
reliever (such as Tylenol) for aches and pains and getting plenty of
rest.
There is always a possibility that the cause of your symptoms could be
(or turn into a) something more serious -- which is why if your
symptoms worsen -- or severe symptoms last more than three days -- or
if your temperature stays above 102 degrees, you should see a doctor.
