You don't need a specialist to treat a urinary tract infection but you will need your regular physician.
You may be able to feel a little better tonight by taking some tylenol and drinking plenty of fluids tonight and seeking help tomorrow. Becuase you are probably having to go to the bathroom alot, a maxi pad for any leaking in your panties may help if that is an issue.
If your fever is high or you just feel particularly bad or are in poor health though, it would not be unheard of to go to the hospital.
These infetions are caused by bacteria and the only way to kill bacteria are by antibiotics. But don't try to use something you may have laying around the house, we need to find out which bacteria you have and use the specific antibiotic for the bacteria. Make sure the doctors know you are allergic to sulfa drugs.
Even if you don't feel really really bad it is important to have this taken care of because you dont want the infection to travel up to your kidneys.
I see you have already tried cranberry juice and water. Those usually are said to help keep urinary tract infections away, but they only help us stay hydrated and feel better once we get an infection.
Since you are probably making many trips to the bathroom but not going very much when you get there, you are probably hesitant to drink alot but it is important to help flush the bacteria out of your bladder.
Please call your doctor in the morning unless you feel really bad. The emergency room will understand tonight if you go in feeling bad tonight with it.
Either way, you will need some help with this one to get better.
Good luck to you and let me know if you need any more help.
