staff infection
Sent to Health Experts August 10 06:21 PM

I have been diagnosed with a staff infection on my cheek. I started to take 450 milligrams of generic cleocin 4 times a day yesterday - took 3 times. and today so far 3 times. The redness has mostly gone from my cheek althought there is a lumb there from an infected pimple that started the problem. I had a fever of 99.5 Degrees yesterday. Today I am about 98 degrees. My question is this. I am due to visit my father in Calif. tomorrow arriving late in the day. He lives in a retirement community and has prostate cancer which has now gone to the bone with a small lesion. Is my visit going to be a danger to him in any way. I surely don't want to endanger him in any way. Are there any precausions I can take or should I cancel my trip. Thanks Karen

Hi

No you have no need to cancel your trip.

Simply pay close attention to personal hygine ( hand washing ) and do not touch your infected checek.

It would be appropriate to inform the home staff of your condidtion ( occasionally they can be a litle over protective.)

Hope this helps.

That should be OK.

Just make sure you clean up after yourself.
