swollen lymph nodes
Sent to Health Experts August 16 06:17 PM

I have had swollen lymph glands for a while now starting in my head but continuing into my groins, neck, throat, armpits, collar bone area, and another one on my skull...I have also been feeling sick lately and tired. I have had an overall fatigue as well as pain in my upper back, neck, and head. Recently my legs started to hurt. I have also been having itchy skin on my legs and possible night sweats. I just had a leukocyte test performed and the results seemed normal. Just today I had a bloody bowel movement with brightly colored red blood and dark feces. What are the possibilities here? Thank you!

I have tried antibiotics, blood tests, my comprehensive metabolic panel was in normal limits, and my white blood cell counts appear to be normal....i just received a leukocyte test that was apparently normal...I am going to have a lymph node biopsy this Friday, but with the onset of bloody bowels and a continued pain, my worries continue....Help me figure this out!!!

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: I have not had a significant weight loss...My bloody stools have happened once and they were not painful. My swollen glands however are painful....I have had some mild constipation lately, nothing serious....I don't know what piles are....and i have only had sex with one girl and she swears she has never had unprotected sex except for with me, as bad as that may sound....My bloody stools I speak was not necessarily blood IN the stools but when i wiped it was a brighter red blood and i have not had any since i hope it stays that way! Thank you for your help! Please let me know if you need any more information

Hello

Painless bleeding with bowel movement is a common symptom of hemorrhoids(piles). At the end of defecation, bright red blood may coat the stool, drip into the toilet, or appear on toilet tissue after wiping.

You should have a anorectal examination from a proctologist .

Regarding Lymph nodes - There can be various causes of swollen lymph nodes from infection, malignancy, auto immune. Although among primary care patients presenting with lymphadenopathy, the prevalence of malignancy has been estimated to be as low as 1.1 percent .Its essential to rule out malignancy as a cause of lymphadenopathy in your case .So lymph node biopsy is necessary.Depending on its report further evaluation to find the cause may be done.
