I have between 99 - 102 fever. My skin hurts, my body aches. My head aches with an ear ache. I also have intermittant stomach pain. This has been going on for 4 days. I can't sleep. I have genital herpes and I am not broken out, but I wondered if this is related. I also got bitten by many mosquitos and fire ants last week and wonder if that is related. I did not have a rash. I did have hives 2 days ago and took Benydril. I have so far just taken Tylenol, but wondered if I should seek a doctor's opinion. I am on vacation in the Rocky Mountains.

Due to the mosquitoes and the West Nile and the Ant bites it very well would be a good idea to go ahead and see a doctor. There are various types of fevers associated with mosquitoes and blood work can show this. You may also have had a reaction to the ants. The benadryl was the best thing to use for this. But the fever is of concern and I would indeed see a doctor asap for a follow up. If I may further assist then please reply.

Could this be related any way to my genital herpes?

Do you think this is at all related to genital herpes?

not with the fever. And your not broken out so it sounds to be a reaction of some type. The fever is of concern on this. It may also have been food ingested on the trip. But the mosquitoes and ants are what I am thinking.

If you have had tick bites you may want to consider this as well.
