I have a small cut above my eye that has caused swelling and Irritation
and some draining, what should I do

How did you cut yourself?

Is the area red at all? Has the redness spread? To where?

Any fever or bodyaches?

Any trouble seeing?

What color is the drainage?

The metal from my car door. Yes it is red. The area around my eye is red now. No body aches. I removed my contacts when it happened so my vision is blurred. The drainage is clear.

Instead of rinsing with cold water try warm water. Also apply a hot/warm compress to the cut several times a day. This will help the area drain and will bring down the swelling. Apply bacitracin during the day and leave the area open at night so it can get fresh air to aid the healing. Tylenol will help with any pain. If the redness spreads further or if the drainage turns a discolored color then you should see a doctor as these are signs of infection.
