Hi,
By what you are describing there are a few possibilities -
  • Reoccurance of rectal cancer - There might be some recurrence of the cancer. This can happen even after chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
  • Irritable bowel syndrome - This is a bowel syndrome characterised by bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. Later can cause mucus and blood in stools.
  • Polyps in the intestine can also cause the same symptoms.
To rule out all the above possibilities you need to contact your doctor as soon as possible. for a detailed examination and investigation. The fact that you are not having any pain in the stomach, fever or vomiting rules out a plain stomach infection.

Reply to Gaurav Gupta's Post: Well I will go with the Irritable bowel syndrome cause since I have had 3 biospy's and they show there is no cancer so what can I do for the Irritable bowel syndrome until I see my doctor cause I have noticed that there has been more blood and mucus and it is getting more raw and painful in the rectal area ok and now nothing but mucus is comming out it looks like it is thick and apears to be a brownish color and all I did was stand up with no urge to go it just came out

Hi,
For irritable bowel, you need to take lots of fiber - salads, fruits etc. Don't take any spicy food. You can also take OTC medicine Loperamide (Imodium) Take that only one tablet. In excess can cause severe constepation.
And try for an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.
