I have completed one appointment of a 2-part root canal, tooth # 30. The tooth is fractured and prior to the root canal was treated for abcess w/ antibiotics. My appointment is 2 weeks away (to complete the root canal). I am feeling lousy w/ low grade fever and torso area muscle aches. The tooth feels slightly raised in its socket and aches occasionally.   Are my symptoms (fever, aches) related to the unfinished procedure and possible recurring abcess? Thank you.

Yes it is possible that you have a recurring abcess. Any fever is a sign of some type of infection in the body. Because you already have had an abcess that developed before and are experiencing pain at the site of the procedure, you could be having a recurrence and should call your dentist right away. It is normal to have pain and aching at the site of a root canal after the procedure, but since you are having a fever you should have this looked into as soon as possible.

Any infection can cause you to feel lousy and have body aches including a cold, flu, possible infection, and about a thousand other things. Feeeling lousy is a very general complaint and is not specific to any process apart from identifying, in your case, a possible infection.
I hope you feel better.
