I have a lump behind my right ear in the crease of my neck, it's about the size of maybe a small bird egg and feels to be the same shape as one. it's been there about 36 hrs now. I have no other symtoms, no runny nose or anything. the skin around the area is slightly sore to touch. I first noticed it after I had helped my son move a heavy mattress. when I was resting right afterward, and noticed a discomfort in my neck when I felt it, I felt the lump. I've had ultra sound on my neck six months ago and had 75% blockage on that side. I go back to have another ultrasound the end of the month. What could this lump be?

It is either an enlarged lymph node or an abcess - less likely given its location.

Do yo have a fever or any other symptoms?
