Hi

It usually takes three months to recover from a hysterectomy - it is a big procedure.

Have you discussed your pain with your surgeon or are you taking any medication?

Hi Dr. J Burk,

So, your telling me that I need for 3 months to get all problems back to normal? So at that time if this does not subside then what is the issue?

Thank You
Shirley

Hi

3 months is the time it takes to fully recover form the surgery ie be well enough to resume work.

I would not expect you to have any symptoms at that time.

If your pain is greater than would be expected or lasting longer then we would have to consider an infection or a pelvic collection - although this would often be associated with a fever and the symptoms would generally be constant.

Now we are talking about constipation and no gas releadse as it was normally. Is this normally one of the side affects to this surgery.

Thank You
Shirley
