I have been treated for three weeks for a UTI-I have had macrobid, levaquin, and now Keflex. I also have had two shots of Remoxaflyn(?)-a strong antibiotic. I am still taking the Keflex, but last nite I ran a temp of 100.5. Is this normal or is the Keflex not working?

Optional Information:
Female, Age: 61, Kentucky

Already Tried:

Hello,
What were the original symptoms you had before starting any treatment?
When did you discontinued the other medications besides Keflex?
Do you currently have any urinary symptoms or abdominal pain?
How long did the fever lasted?
Thanks.

I had no symptoms! It was found during a routine physical=bloodwork/urinalysis test.
I was given the macrobid, finished it and was running a temp of 102-given the shot and levaquin for one week. Same results after one week, Another shot and keflex. That was this past Monday-yesterday I felt good til about 2 pm and last nite ran the temp of 100.3. Getting a bit scary-
thank you

ACCEPTED Check Mark

A fever of 100.3 can be a side effect of Keflex as well. However since you've been getting fever despite different antibiotics, I would say that you keep an eye on it. If you get fever again, you should call your doctor and you may need further tests including urinalysis. If urinalysis is normal, there may be some other cause for fever and further investigations will be required.

Regards.
