Not sure if this is related but a couple days ago he complained that his lips felt numb-change in taste. Early this morning he woke up shaking, fever, his joints are very sore (painful almost) his testicles are very sore-especially when he stands up-very sensitive when lifted a bit. fever is now at 101, was at 102+ earlier.

Hello,

Yes, this is a viral infection. Most viral infections start with a general body discomfort, loss in taste, loss of appetite, body ache, joint aches, maybe pain in the long bones. Then fever occurs which can spike quite high - the decrease in your husband's case is probably due to the Advil he has taken.

It is not related to lifting heavy weights.

Please consult your doctor for an examination, blood tests and treatment.

I hope this helps.
