I hurt my ring finger somehow. I had it ex-rayed, nothing showed on the ex-ray. They suggested I soak it in warm water and tape it to my pinky for a few days. Several weeks have gone by and it still hurts. When I bend my finger you can hear and see a pop at the joint below the knuckle. It hurts when I bend it, especially in the morning. I pain is between this joint and the palm side of my knuckle. What could this be?

It may be a tendon, nerve that is sprained. Generally any sprain if it were bad enough can actually take up to 6 months to heal. Since the weekend is coming up soak your hand in warm water with epson salt. If this doesn't seem to help at all by Monday then do return and either try a repeat x ray or insist on an MRI so you can see what is going on. Also try ibuprofen too for any inflammation that may be going on as well. You can take up to 600mg.
